简介
After the Mika debut album, released by Klein records in 2000, it was time for a change. The electronic toys were moved, Simon Nola moved to Graz, Matthias Kertal moved to Vienna, honorary Mika Lea Sonnek moved to London. It took some time before getting used to the new situation. Despite the spatial separation, the members remained synchronically in contact, gave concerts, produced remixes and individually worked on new tracks. Within two weeks of intense work in a factory loft near Vienna, the foundation for their new album was built together with labelhead Christian Candid. ?Right Place, Right Time? was then taken from Vienna to Graz and back, was improved on railway trips, rearranged on motorways, sent via email until the single bits and pieces eventually melted into one piece: a collection of mikaesque moments in which the chemistry is right. When you?re finally at the right place, right time. Mika?s musical home cannot be defined clearly. There is no such thing as a clear-cut definition of Mika?s musical style. Their music cannot be squeezed into any simple category of short term trends. Simon Nola?s and Matthias Kertal?s passion consists rather in catching special moments, moods and emotions. They take great care in fusing together diverse musical styles: electronic music somewhere between sony and track, between dancing, sitting, standing or lying. All this is spiced up by a nice bit of pop, the wonderful voices and moods of Simon Nola and Lea Sonnek. Electronica with soul.
