简介
Following the success of her last single, “Gypsy Babe”, Vancouver’s Jody Glenham packed up for a month in L.A., working with producer Raymond Richards (Local Natives, the Parson Red Heads) on the songs that would become Dreamer. Richards’ past musical work includes stints playing guitar/pedal steel for Mojave 3, Hope Sandoval & The Warm Inventions and The Brian Jonestown Massacre. Richards also produced/record Local Natives’ 2009 breakout album. 5 songs from these sessions along with “Gypsy Babe” now come to life as the Dreamer EP. Hailed by the Georgia Straight as “a potent cocktail of torchy retro-twang and gauze-swaddled pop-noir,” Dreamer is a perfect slice of modern pop, grounded in classic songwriting. It’s equal parts Mazzy Star and Patsy Cline, but more importantly, it’s 100% Jody Glenham. — Quinn Omori (From Blown Speakers, Polaris-prize Juror) Jody Glenham has recently shared stages with Cults, The Head and The Heart, Chad Van Gaalen, King Dude, Concrete Blonde, and many other talented peers. She’ll be playing select North American dates in support of Dreamer throughout 2014. Dreamer will be released independently on February 18th, 2014. A 2-song vinyl teaser is currently out on 7”– available on limited edition lavender – through her bandcamp page. The lead single, 'Between You and Me' recently debuted on KEXP and a music video - inspired by 90s cult classic 'The Craft' - is scheduled for an early March release.
