Jeff Scott has been a long time in the making. Growing up outside of Cleveland, Ohio gave me a midwestern sensibility and a biting humor necessary to survive suburban life. It’s this backdrop that shaped my attraction to the small dramas of life; secret lives and deeds played out behind closed doors. These imagined (and sometimes real) stories influence my lyrics. Often writing from personal experience, I search for ways to express the common human experience. Whether the lyrics successfully do this is up for grabs. Ultimately it’s about the music for me. I want my songs to stick to your soul. Hopefully they’ll lift you up and keep you moving throughout your day, or help you take a stand in this world. I think that’s why we all listen to music. When pressed to name musical influences I have to give major nods to a vast array of artists from all genres. Topping the list are the likes of Lou Reed, David Bowie, Elmore James, and Gram Parsons. However, when its all said and done, I hope that I am speaking with my own voice and slowly building off the backs of the giants and legends that have come before. Happy Listening, Jeff
