简介
Songwriter and Pro Tools Certified Audio Engineer, Samantha Gunney jumps into her artistry with her debut single, "Killing This Vibe," a melodic and upbeat R&B song about living life to the fullest and letting no one steal your joy or "kill your vibe." Born in Washington D.C. and growing up in a household that listened to music from the Temptations to Bach, Samantha Gunney has always had a great love for music. From a very early age, Samantha showed her love for songwriting. At eight-years old, she formed a singing group with her classmates and wrote songs for the group…songs she still has to this day. Samantha continued to sing and write songs through high school and college, building her catalog and growing as a writer. While attending the University of Maryland at College Park, Samantha joined SEE (Student Entertainment Events) and her love for music expanded beyond her creative abilities into the music business as well. After graduating college with a B.A. in Communications a semester early (three and a half years) because she discovered that she could expand her skills from writing songs to actually recording those songs, Samantha continued pursuing her dream, with endless support from her parents, and attended Omega Recording Studios’ School of Applied Recording Arts and Sciences in Rockville, MD. There she studied Audio Engineering and Music Business and became Pro Tools Certified, learning the art of recording, editing and mixing and the importance of being educated in the business of music as well as the creative art form. Following Omega, Samantha became an intern at EMI Music Marketing under then Urban Marketing Manager of the Mid-Atlantic Region, Preston Blue, where she learned the significance of artist development and taking a song from the studio to a consumer product. As a seasoned recording engineer, Samantha has worked with artists, producers, voice-over talents and radio personalities, including having the opportunity to work alongside Washington DC's WPGC 95.5 FM radio station as a recording and mixing engineer for the Washington Redskins' song segment on the popular Donnie Simpson Morning Show in 2009-2010. As a songwriter, vocal producer, audio engineer and singer, Samantha has collaborated with several artists, songwriters and producers, including Composer (Selena Gomez, Colby O’Donis, Trey Songz), Drumma Boy (Kanye West, Drake, T.I.), Dilemma (Jazmine Sullivan) & Jay Fenix (Melanie Fiona), giving her all in every project. Samantha continues to share her love of creatively blending vocal harmonies, lyrics and melodies as a way of touching people through her music. Her songwriting is not simply about putting words to music, but about leaving a lasting memory on the minds and hearts of her audience – those same memories that made her fall in love with music as a young child. Samantha knows how the art of music can become the soundtrack to a person’s life story and with her knowledge and passion, Samantha will continue telling those stories through her gift of singing and songwriting ~ a calling that she wouldn’t trade for the world.
