简介
JUBBA, born in Jamaica, West Indies sang at an early age with his siblings in a group known as the "Dyer 5." The family group gained popularity in the island & was nominated for two JAMI awards (the island's top music award). JUBBA migrated to the U.S. in 1994 to attend college. He graduated in 1999 from Augusta State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Admin. In 1998, JUBBA founded the live cutting-edge gospel band DESTYNE, which has opened for the likes of Rev. John P. Kee, Dawkins & Dawkins, Trinitee 5:7 & others, & has performed on the new artist showcase at Bobby Jones Gospel in Nashville, Tenn. JUBBA's debut solo CD; "Plenty Good" was released independently in 2004. The CD became a friend to regional gospel radio stations, who had several singles in rotation. Bryton Entertainment shot JUBBA's first music video for the title track; "Plenty Good", & made its 'national' debut as a part of BET's "Video Gospel" in the summer of 2005. In early 2006, the video premiered on 'The WORD Network'. As a solo artist, JUBBA shared the same stage as Tye Tribbett & GA, Kevin Bond & Flow, & Canton Jones. He created and starred in the "God is Love" tour throughout Georgia and South Carolina, his first tour as a solo artist. Besides conceptualizing his own show, JUBBA orchestrated two major projects that included some of the top gospel artists in the Augusta area. The first was the UNITY Concert, which successfully raised money for the victims of Hurricane Katrina who had relocated to the Augusta area, and for the Augusta Care Pregnancy Center, a Christian organization. For the second project, JUBBA collaborated with producer Marlon Stokes to create the tribute song "KING" in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Bryton Entertainment again worked with JUBBA for this song's video. The "KING" video premiered on the WORD Network in the fall of 2006, and on BET's Video Gospel in January of 2007. The song enjoyed a day of national radio play. Recently, the local NBC station in Augusta featured JUBBA in a 'Faith First' news story. The story talked about JUBBA's ministry and the tribute song to Dr. King. JUBBA's ministry represents the things that he always strives for; professional cutting-edge music, but most importantly, heartfelt, sincere lyrics inspired by the Holy Ghost to address a wide range of issues in Christendom. As a minister of the gospel (both in word and song) & the president of the Youth Dept. at his local church (Greater Apostolic Holy Temple), JUBBA intends to affect people of all walks & genres (particularly the youth) with this blend of urban beats & God's word.
