What is that soothing sound? This is Christie's second CD of mesmerizing Christmas soundscapes. Like last year's Heartsong For Christmas, Christie takes bits of traditional and sacred favorites and weaves them into ethereal and intensely lovely music. This CD also includes four future Christmas classics composed by Christie; Lord of My Heart, At The Heart of Christmas, This is Love, and King of Heaven My Treasure Thou Art. A unique talent, Christie Forester's lush piano and keyboard compostions are created in the moment. Hints of familiar melodies are woven to create music that is soothing and fresh. Christie was born in Ambon, Indonesia where her parents, RB and Avelone Caveness were missionaries. At 12, she was her father's church pianist and although musically trained, seized every opportunity to create her own music ... much to her piano teachers' chagrin. After living in Singapore for many years, Christie returned to the United States where she married Walter Forester, completed her Ph.D. and at one time was a professional body builder! She now lives and composes in the seaside village of San Carlos, Sonora, Mexico. All proceeds from the CDs go to the artists and are provided at no cost. “Dr. David Walker, Founder and Executive Director of Bio-Res-Med and I both believe the universal language of music has healing abilities.” explains Ms. Sahlen. “My husband is a songwriter so we record song demos in our home. Word got out in our village and some amazing musicians started literally knocking on my door. None had ever had the opportunity to hear themselves recorded. Ms. Sahlen, herself, resides in the seaside village of San Carlos receiving treatment for health problems she believes are the result of silicone breast implants in the 1970s. The disabling fatigue, pain and high medical costs forced the sale of her thriving lecture agency in Dallas, Texas in the late 1980s. “The silicone brain fog was tragic in a business where the spoken word is so integral.”, Ms. Sahlen explained. For years she managed to work part-time at Austin’s Paramount Theater, then later with Las Vegas agent, Sal Murillo, and 1960s rock diva, Spanky McFarlane . Even part time became physically impossible so Ms. Sahlen retired to Mexico where medical care is less costly.
