简介
THEY'RE ALREADY HERE! "Grey Dawn" shines a light on the evil aliens who rule this godforsaken world. What began as a rock album to showcase the skills of Boston-area punk/prog guitar wizard Craig Adams has evolved into an entrancing vocal-heavy space rock epic. Producer Jon Evans (Tori Amos / Ridiculon) brought many levels of musicality to the album (and played bass on three songs). "Save the Humans?" and "Mind Over Mind" were mixed by Joel Hamilton (Tom Waits/Dub Trio). Mastered by Joe LaPorta (because he did David Bowie's last record, and that's awesome). Part cosplay, part performance art, an OFFWORLD show is like a night out in the cantina, with a dance floor full of aliens and robots. The album takes you on a journey through spacetime, starting with the band's arrival on Earth in "Lunar Schooner", featuring Jeremy Flower's fascinating synths, subliminal binaural frequencies, Tibetan chanting, and completely abstracted guitars. The tight rhythm section of Darren Lourie (Meliah Rage) and David Silver (Season to Risk) propel the album with varying degrees of heaviness. Ethereal and spooky vocals by RAIN make observations about life on Earth and inspire you to let your inner light shine in an ever-darkening world. This is post-stoner rock for the next generation. Songs range from the opening trippy grooves to the metal-edged anthems "Save the Humans?" and "Mind Over Mind", to the apocalyptic soundtrack "The End Is Here". This is alt rock for those who like their music a little weirder and heavier, without all the screaming. Except the greys. They scream when you squish their black jelly eyes.
