简介
Brooklyn's Party Lights, formed in 2013, wears their power pop and new wave influences on their sleeve, fishnets and leather hot pants. Singer/guitarist Anna Anabolic was raised on a steady diet of Cheap Trick, The Go Go's, The Real Kids and The Runaways, and when she met Joan Chew (bass, vocals), David Smilow (drums) and Elliott Klein (guitar) in a little club in New York's East Village called The Electric Banana - don't look for it, it's not there anymore - she knew she'd met her match. They've been playing on garage, power pop and rock n roll bills in top New York venues from The Knitting Factory to Union Pool to Mercury Lounge with bands like Holly Golightly, Reigning Sound, The Empty Hearts, Mr. Airplane Man, Barrence Whitfield and the Savages, Stereo Total and Subsonics. Party Lights' debut 7" was released on British label No Front Teeth Records and a follow up 7" is due out in January on Baltimore's Hidden Volume Records. "Party Lights are an ace pop rock n’ roll that hail stateside out of Brooklyn, New York. These talented bandmates of four really drive a music vibe that excites with pop rock crunch, post-punk era brilliance glow and a natural garage rock edge appeal. Their sound showcases special musicianship displays of impressive swaying riff skies, top vocal shines that have tremendous catchy pop lift alongside rhythm units that truly supply the groove rocking bounce packs throughout. I thoroughly enjoyed this ‘grooving and moving’ rock n’ roll and ‘without a doubt’ see this recent music work being a top contender for independent rock appreciators ear charts everywhere, ‘class band, for sure’!" - Forksterocks.net
