The basic concept behind "Proof of ID" arose from the idea of certain expectations of what a hip hop artist should look, sound, act or think like. Thus, A.J. Throwback added a more creative concept of "hip-hop cops" on the beat, stopping him and his cohorts and ensuring they belonged in the neighborhood of the culture.
