I wanted to keep this description down to Earth and tell it like it is. Be sure to check out my website for a bio, press releases ,etc. This is a collection of all the works I'm proud of since the early days of my musical journey. Over 40 songs collected into one album split up into 5 volumes. Every song produced, performed and often mixed/mastered by me. These songs reflect moments of my personal life, my maturity over the years, other stories told in 1st, 2nd and 3rd person perspectives, fictional stories, as well as reflections of my environment. Thelonius Da Gemini- (1999) My 1st homemade, unreleased album. Even before myspace & facebook, I was already conceptualizing my next album. The artist name was inspired by Thelonious Monk and his impact in the Jazz scene. Da (The) Gemini and Musikal Schola (scholar) was later incorporated to put emphasis on my many interests and gifts as an artists, namely, the singer/ dancer, the producer, musician. 'Tru Love' was one of the first songs I ever wrote around 16 years ago and continued for about 4 years re-writing, revising, and recreating more songs the best I could with what I had. Starting with two tape decks and a keyboard and eventually a computer. All songs written, produced, recorded, performed, mixed & mastered by Temu Except for: "Intro 2 Da Gemini" lyrics written by Sheba Bacot "Hit Da Floor" rap verse by Nino White "A Little 4' 7" written by Victor Freeman Khromatik EP- (2005) In 2004, I was given a life altering opportunity to spend time as a exchange student at a dance school in Denmark. The 'Thelonius' album was my ticket into a local studio in a town named Odense. New friends gave me a chance, we became band members, and new love spawned new ideas. it was a pure musical revelation. I wanted to use the opportunity to experiment as much as possible by throwing genres in a pot, stirring it up, and by the time the band came together to play it, Khromatik came out. It was never 'officially' released. Though, we became locally known for about 5 years as we continued to record and played many shows together while I further honed my skills. The Sign In was just as much of experiment as Khromatik. Though this time, its was more focused on popular and modern genres. My dancing had already earned me a reputation as a good performer and skilled teacher, so I wanted to start reaching out to the dance community with my sound. I had help with an engineer to get the best out of my ideas from beginning to end. It's an experience I'll take with me for a very long time and some of my best work. All the song were written, composed and recorded in a variety of different studios and locations. Most of these songs were either meant to be a part of an album or EP, while some others were harder to place in general. However, we can now all enjoy it for what it is. Music.
