简介
I wondered where to go, but I was completely lost. Not knowing which way was right or wrong. I wanted to go back home, where I was from, where I was loved, back to where I belonged. Home cannot be limited to any temporary place or position. We define “home” as a place where we take shelter. A place that gives us inner peace. A place where we are feel complete comfort, where we are truly loved . We are all born in various places around the world. Yet search for where we belong. Born in America, in a family of Indian origin, my story is a rather confusing one. I was raised in a strict traditional home, yet when I walked outside, wondered where I belonged. What is that perfect place that I called home? We are always searching for that place where we feel love. Real love is unconditional, unmotivated and pure. And the only person who gives us real love is the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Sri Krsna. One can only really feel at home, sheltered and loved in His home, the transcendental abode Sri Vrindavan Dham. There He lives with his associates, his friends, devotees and lovers. Located on the banks of the Yamuna River in the state of Uttar Pradesh, the town of Vrindavan is the site of an ancient forest where Lord Krishna spent his childhood days. Approximately 15 kilometers from Mathura, the city of Krishna’s birthplace, the sacred town has hundreds of temples dedicated to the worship of Sri Krishna and His eternal consort Srimati Radharani. Because Vrindavana is the eternal spiritual abode of the Lord, it is nondifferent from Him. The "VRAJAVADHUS" or brides of Vraja are the cowherd damsels who love the Supreme Person, Krsna. These girls have accepted Krsna as Thier husbands. Thier love is the highest form of love. Our prayer is to imbibe Thier mood and follow in Thier footsteps. My dear friends, I invite you, to come home with me. Come to the spiritual abode, full of transcendental eternity and bliss. Come to Vraja where the highest for of love is performed by "THE VRAJAVADHUS". After receiving wide praise for the cool yet savvy, awakening, devotional music, VRAJAVADHUS KIRTAN is proud to announce the release of their self titled Debut Album “TAKE ME HOME.” Featuring a broad spectrum of world music, meditational ambiance fused with groovy hip-hop sounds, the album is a variety of entertaining tracks on the rise. The band have spent the last three years touring worldwide in the US, Canada, South Africa, Australia and India. And are pleased to bring pumping, heart rocking melodies to elated fans. GAURA MANI is an american born Kirtan singer bringing contemporary, upbeat, universal music, symphonizing an eastern flavor jazzed up with rockin’ western fusion. “Music is the language of love. Kirtan is the cry of the soul,” says GAURA MANI. Naming her band after the lovers of Krishna, THE VRAJAVADHUS, the cowherd gopis of Vraja, she pours out feelings of intense love, calling out to her beloved Lord through lively, soulful, passionate Kirtan melodies. “There’s no greater feeling than singing your heart out for the one you love most,” bright eyed, beaming with a smile, GAURA adds, “Kirtan makes me high forever. I can’t imagine doing anything else. And that’s becoming a problem.” Her brand new, debut album, “TAKE ME HOME,” released on Thursday, March 8th, 2012. About its release she says, “I’m very excited, eager and nervous about my first album. It was a long haul and completely wiped me out! It was a journey full of hope, prayer, and faith in my Lord. I’m feeling a beautiful sensation of accomplishment filled with deep inner emotions. Sometimes I want to cry, sometimes I want to dance. Which song is my favorite? Quite honestly, they’re all like my children, creations of different times I went through, expressing my emotions of wanting to go back home. It’s all about the name, “TAKE ME HOME.” I wanted to go back home, where I am from, where I am loved, back to where I belong. Where is that perfect place that I call home?” Welcoming call and response, dance-oriented Kirtan, “TAKE ME HOME” features a broad spectrum of world music combining a unique blend of reggae, hip hop, and eastern classical music. From the melancholy “My Eternal Shelter” and powerful “The Absolute Truth” to the rip roaring, heart rockin’, “Make Me Dance,” THE VRAJAVADHUS have catchy vocal melodies and hard hitting beats and the band is a ‘fun, entertaining, Kirtan party’ that’s clearly on the rise. “Kirtan is the highest form of expressing one’s love with the Supreme,” says GAURA MANI, “by which one enters into the spiritual realm of eternal ecstasy, diving deeper, riding waves of unlimited love, yearning for more and more loving exchanges with the Supreme Lord.” With renewed feelings of joy upon the release of thier album, THE VRAJAVADHUS share thier gratitude, “The whole process has been an amazing journey with all the love and support of our fans. We are delighted to bring fresh, bold and intoxicating music to all of you.”
