简介
Adam Ferrara, pianist, organist, singer, trumpeter, and guitarist, started his life in music when he attended a Blast! concert. For many days afterwards, he took pencils and drummed on anything that would make a sound. Adam grew his knowledge of music by routinely performing trumpet and piano at his church, as well as accompanying the choir. Regularly adding instruments as he grew up, Adam has too many favorites to stick to one genre and finds something great in all types of music, leading to a diverse musical taste. Jacob Schmeltzer started out his music career as a church pianist when his sister left the position to study at college. This occupation inspired new ideas and his future career as a musician. As a composer, arranger, and improvising pianist, Jacob has always enjoyed many styles of music varying from classical, metal, jazz, rock, and many more. Later while focusing primarily on jazz trumpet, Jacob discovered his love for the guitar and taught himself various styles of the instrument. Along with that, he plays the bass guitar and even can be found on the double bass. Both musicians began playing together in the trumpet section for the college marching band. Since then, they have been working to expand the other’s musical skills and background. Jacob and Adam first came up with the idea to arrange the tune “What Child Is This?” for guitar and piano and then create a music video of their performance. With plans to continue to perform together, they created the group Steel and Ivory, an acoustic group consisting mostly of guitar and piano. Steel and Ivory concentrates their work on intricate harmonies and fine musicality.
