简介

TO GIVE THIS CD A REVIEW, SCROLL TO THE BOTTOM Rev. David Ausby, Sr. son of the late Elder Nathaniel Ausby, Sr. and Evangelist Mary Ausby was born in Weldon, N.C. I have three siblings, Nathaniel Ausby, Jr., Mary Young, and Delois Gray (deceased). I started singing in the choir when I was eight years old.My mother taught me piano at the age of ten. I studied music under Mrs. Charlotte Johnson and music in college. I started playing piano and organ in churches. My favorite organ is the Hammond B3 with the 145 Leslie Cabinet. I was the minister of music for the Evangelistic Church of Deliverance in Weldon, NC for seventeen years. I played for various churches after that including my home church, the Roanoke Chapel Baptist Church in Littleton, NC. I met Pastor John P. Kee at Friendship Baptist Church in Trenton, New Jersey at a musical workshop. The knowledge I gained from him was instrumental in continuing my music ministry. I opened for groups such as The Wilmington Chester Mass Choir and Rev. Melvin Dawson and the Genesis Ensemble. In 2000 I performed with the Daughters of the Travelers of Jackson, NC at Pastor Shirley Caesar's Crusade. I also performed and preached in Chicago, Illinois with the Daughters of the Travelers. I performed with the Daughters of the Travelers on their 30th Anniversary. We opened up for Damon Little & The Nu Beginning. I taught music at the Halifax Community College for nine years. I taught music at the Hollister Reach Center for seven years and I am currently teaching there. That includes piano, drums and voice lessons. Rev. James Johnson is the Executive Director of the Hollister Reach Center. Mrs. Carolyn Lynch helps coordinate the music program. The Hollister Reach Seminar Choir was birthed as a result of the teaching at the Center. I am the organizer of the Praise Community Choir of Roanoke Rapids, NC. I am the owner and operator of Inspirational Music Services In Roanoke Rapids, NC. I am an artist on "Independent Records" of Blairstown, New Jersey. Bro. Donnie Plum, son of the late Joe R. and Lucy Plum and one of 14 children. My mother played a big part in my life. My mother started teaching me about God at a very young age. We attended church often especially my home church, Gaston Baptist Church in Northampton County, NC. We lived on a farm in Northampton County, NC. I learned to play the guitar at the age of six and the drums at the age of ten. I started playing drums in my brother's band, The Block Busters. In the band I also learned to play various instruments and how to sing lead and background. The band consisted of five members, four brothers and one nephew. In January 1967 the band went to South Bend, Indiana. There I learned more about drums from Mr. Billy Nicks who played for Jr. Walker and The All Stars. There I saw people like James Brown and Al Green. In October we moved back to Washington, DC. and to Norfolk, Va. At one time we had a 12-piece band. Sometines I would leave the band and return home to play for other bands like the Blue Mooners where I played and sang with Norris Pittman who is now a member of Willis Pittman and the Burden Lifters While I was home with my mother we would go to Henderson, NC. There I learned that Gerald Alston, the lead singer for the Manhattans was my cousin. My mother and his grandmother were two brothers children. I was shocked! My mother smiled and said it's a lot about your family you don't know. My brother died who was the leader of the band. I said I would not play anymore musical instruments again. Then I opened my own business. At the age of 35 I found my way back to church. That's when I realized that's where God wanted me to be. We started Gaston Baptist Church Male Chorus. I am a musician and sound technician for the Gaston Baptist Male Chorus. I am also the musician for The Oak Grove Baptist Church in Garysburg, NC., Second Baptist Church in Potecasi, NC. and The Gospel Supremes in Gaston, NC. I attended Halifax Community College for music lessons and planning programs for church services. That's where I met Rev. David Ausby, Sr. He was the music instructor at the college. Rev. Ausby has been a very good friend to me. Rev. Ausby and his wife, Betty are wonderful people. That's why I am honored to be a part of our first CD, I Need You Lord.
