Inspired by the famous myth of Orpheus, this double album alternates instrumental, rather minimalistic and sometimes almost improvisational Electronica Ambient tracks (titled 'Echoes') with choral or solo vocal tracks partly based on ancient Romanian dirges and melodic archetypes, as part of a common, Eastern European heritage. The atmosphere is brooding, restrained and tragic, the influence of world music (Bulgarian, Syrian and Indian) is obvious in several vocal tracks, and the meditative touch of Vangelis from 'El Greco' or 'Odes' is sometimes hinted at. Some notable exceptions from this general mood are the soothing 'Echo 6' and the ecstatic 'Echo 3", 'Echo 8' and 'Apollo'.
