The line-up of Brian, Mike, Bruce, Shawn and Ali originally released the album in 2001, with production duties shared with Howie Sato of Nicotine. The album also features two songs mixed by Tim Smith of Cardiacs. The band won many converts when they played live to promote the CD, as the unforgettable trumpet hooks and moves of Shawn blended with Ali's melodic piano, organ and harpsichord parts, all adding big splashes of mood and colour to the guitar-bass-drums noise provided by Brian, Mike and Bruce.
