Stevvi has been singing for as long as she can remember with the church as her training ground. As the daughter of a Pentecostal bishop she could be found singing in as many choirs as she could possibly join. As a young woman she continued to refine her skills singing with various groups, performing in local shows and competing in the nationwide ACT-SO competition. While still in college she was signed to a record deal on Columbia Records with the group Saraparker. Stevvi\'s career developed so rapidly that she was unable to attend her graduation ceremony due to an invitation from Diana Ross to join her European tour, thus initiating her explosive career as a backing vocalist. To date she has toured and/or worked closely with Macy Gray, Mya, Justin Timberlake, Kelly Clarkson, Brian McKnight, Britney Spears, Kenny Lattimore, Anastascia, Patti LaBelle, Jessica Simpson, Chante Moore, Fantasia, Nelly Furtado, Patti Austin, RES and Gwen Stefani to name a few. She constantly appears on television backing up the biggest stars and talents of the day. She has performed on both the Grammy\'s and the American Music Awards numerous times. She has appeared on the albums of both Macy Gray and Incubus and is currently working as a jingle artist in both NY and LA. She has worked as an artist both individually and collectively with a band based in Los Angeles called Star69. Not only a singer - Stevvi is a songwriter and guitarist aspiring toward growth and artistic mastery in every way. Stevvi has had the pleasure of working with some of the greatest up and coming producers and her present production family is no exception. She fatefully stumbled upon the team of Hollins Steele (Dayna Hollins & Benny Steele) when she rented out their Brooklyn studio, The Steele Factory, to record rough sketches of her new material. After laying down five songs in four hours, Benny who was engineering the session, simply asked her, \"Uh, are you working with any producers?\" Benny\'s informed musicianship and arrangements combined with Dayna\'s effortless songwriting and vocals result in a perfectly balanced and seamless production machine. Together they have created what Stevvi would describe as melodic, alternative Christian pop with lush harmonies and thoughtful prose. Stevvi is an artist who is excited about the possibility of ministering to existing believers as well as connecting with non-believers. \"When I was growing up one of the main things that kept me involved in the church world was music, specifically groups like Commissioned and the Winans. These groups were speaking my language and appealing to my youth while HEAVILY ministering life and the Word of God. It is my heart\'s desire to offer that same ministry to today\'s youth, so that they can feel relevant and heard while serving Christ. Additionally, there are so many people who don\'t realize how cool Christianity is and they need to see (and hear) a movement of young, involved and progressive people who identify themselves as followers of Christ.\" Finally Stevvi states, \"It seems obvious to me that what you do when no one is looking is what you really love and cherish, and that has been my approach to music and spirituality. Not for the fun or the lifestyle, I NEED music in my life as a center with my belief as the foundation. Growing up in a restrictive household was tough and music was the only thing that spoke to me. It WAS my identity.\" As a result, music is the language through which Stevvi speaks and it is her hope that someone, somehow will benefit from her expression and sincerity.
