It's not where you're from - it's where you're at! Much has been blustered about regional influences and particular city sounds. Pop representatives from politics and establishment talk about structure, home and tradition. But fortunately now and then it's been proved, that music doesn't bother about such one-way parameters, which is a good thing. The dancefloor sensation of The Sonic Boom Foundation, which was founded in 2006 provides documentary evidence. Listening to their tracks, the cartographic connoisseurs can only eat their words. This band operates uncoupled from all local ideals to kick arse. The rock-stage easily transforms into a frenzied dancefloor and vice-versa. Therefore FMLYN (vox, ex-The High Kites), Joey (bass, ex-[[tam)]]), Gräfe (keyb, ex-[[tam]]), Flammy (dr, ex-Born Cool) have done their homework in an inimitable manner. Adepts are astonished at their intuitive combination of the early 90s Madchester-Rave-O-Lution, Underworld-Monster-Trackism, smart Hardtrance Submission, Rock- Encyclopedia, recent Rave-Euphoria and preceding Prodigy-Guerrilla-Floor-Conduct, while cheering and dancing till blisters hurt the feet. Their relations with intercontinental ingredients of Dancefloorism seem so exceedingly self-evident, that one has to pay tribute to the band. Unsurprising is the fact, that they've already played highly acclaimed festivals throughout Europe. In their short existence they have taken the stage by storm at NatureOne, SonneMondSterne, Highfield, Frequency, Gampel and many many more. Beside the aromatic melange of ancient techno, Geezerism à-la Shaun Ryder and perfect Rock & Roll dramaturgy, their latest recordings also show a lust for modernism. So it is not astonishing, that they - inter alia - lead off in the round dance of NuRave. And that's more than ok, as planet rave preaches once again, that one is allowed to spread sweat on the dancefloor without stylistic delimitation. And that's the way how The Sonic Boom's Hooligan-Uplifting-Acid- Foundation melts into a symbiotic sound of iridescent bass-rich-MashUp music. Nothing else would have been expected from The Sonic Boom Foundation. And that's exactly what makes it so precious. The band portray themselves as nothing less than the Rave'n'Roll Energizer!
