Robin Marie’s piano pieces in “Above” are the ideal backdrop for an evening with friends, a scenic road trip or a contemplative evening alone. Meant to uplift and comfort, this album takes the listener on a journey through many emotional panoramas toward a place of calm and acceptance. Her inspiration for “Above” comes from working through life’s challenges and reveling in life’s joys. This recording captures a particular version of her many variations arising from the themes found in the album.

While a young girl, Robin Marie began composing by using whatever was at hand including a ukulele, synthesizer, piano or her own voice. During her teen years, she began competing in piano composition competitions and in piano performance competitions. In college, she went on to receive a Bachelor of Music with an emphasis in composition from UC Santa Barbara. In addition to composition, Robin Marie’s musical experience includes having been a vocalist, guitarist, private music instructor and music director. She is currently a pianist at a local restaurant where she entertains the guests by playing in various genres including jazz, classical, country, pop and her own creations.
