'Lincoln has a rare gift. He manages to coax every last drop of emotion from his nylon stringed guitar. His lyrics are as honest and his technique flawless. Dig it!' - Robert Longstaff, LUX, Berlin Biography Lincoln was born in Sydney, but at age 3 moved to Durban, South Africa, and spent most of his childhood there before returning to Sydney in 1992. His dad picked up some flamenco guitar skills from an old knife maker in Durbs and passed some of them on to his eager progeny as part of a class speech aged 9, - which then turned into regular classical lessons culminating in a solo performance at the Sydney Opera House in 1999; a high point for any performer. A trip to India in 2003 saw the start of a significant change in musical direction and an exploration into more spiritual sides of music and Lincoln learned to play the sitar and tablas and began to sing. He also met a pretty frauline and ended up moving to Berlin for 3 and a half years. A trip to Freiburg saw him team up with some super talented muso's and gave him the kick in the rear he needed to get his musical life organised. After that he started charming some of the many dark and dirty clubs in Berlin with his soulful, melodious tunes. Currently Sydney-based and measuring his success by the goose bumps in the audience and not the ticket sales, he wants to get into your head and your heart with his mix of the pure and powerful melodies of classical music with the down-to-earth rawness of blues and folk.
