“This is as good as it gets. He [Wilson] has got the songs, the band and he’s awfully good looking” -Tom Kidd, Music Connection Magazine - 1986 Indy music of the 80’s was not just punk and glam but studio pop with intimate stage raves that brought the audience and musicians together. “Big Window” was recoreded 20 years ago at Telestar Recording Studios in Burbank, California and was to be the first releae on Joe Gotfried’s new independent label. Joe died of a heart attack before this could come to fruition and the master tapes were lost and forgotten until my son, Nigel, discovered some DAT copies of the original masters and urged me to release them at the same time we were putting the finishing touches on his debut CD "Anybody Else". I am proud of the music and the time of my life it takes me back to, with some amazing musicians that continue to be wonderful and supportive friends including M. B. Gordy, Grady Shawver, Lisbeth Scott, Phyllis Bailey, Geoff Stradling, Mike McLinden, Steve Ezzo, Nancy Roche, Scott Manza, Pat Carey, Wade Bierry and Andrew Matheson. “Big Window” was truly a collaborative effort, allowing me to choose great songs and to write with inspired and passionate artists. Everyday in the studio was one of discovery and clarity as the music came together. I am happy to finally release this collection of songs and share this moment in time.
