Before the sold out shows, being featured on TV and radio, and opening up for seasoned artists such as Goodie Mob, Yuckmouth, Bone Thugs n Harmony, Pall Wall, Kris Kaliko and many others, Brian Godeaux, more commonly known to the public as Hypnautic, was born and raised in Denver, Colorado. This is known to many who listen to the words he preaches as his pride and community loyalty is no secret. He has been an inspiration from the beginning, drawing people to him at a young age, even before the true dawning of his artistic ability. Attentive listeners have heard his story and have been inspired from an early age by his free spirited flows at house parties to passionate masterpieces influenced by tragedy. Two days before Hypnautic’s high school graduation, his life was suddenly changed with the news of his closest childhood friend’s sudden death during a tragic round of Russian Roulette. This devastation and many other close personal losses that followed in a domino effect inspired his transformation from a seemingly negative influence to his peers, to use his talent to be a positive influence, giving those around him, also struck by these losses, a beacon of hope. He did what he’d done his whole life, but on a new platform, he lead his friends and audiences to the realization that they will survive, they can get through anything and God gave us all a reason, it’s just about finding ours. In 2004, Hypnautic released his first solo-mixtape “God Gave Me A Reason”, selling over 5000 copies upon it’s release. It’s debut was a huge success that Hypnautic attributes not only to his own gift but to the networking of other known artists featured as well, including DJ Bedz and DJ Stupac. His tracks were highlighted in local publications, selected to be played on the radio station KS107.5, Shadyville Radio, some songs were selected to be on mixtapes by DJ Bedz hosted by national artists like Stat Quo and Mims, including a mixtape with DJ Stupac. The drum roll has begun as Hypnautic’s listeners are anxiously awaiting his debut album’s release Purple Rain, looking to hit stores after his release party on May 14th at Casslemans with Chamillionair. Since this life changing transformation in Hypnautic’s artistry, his music has been about more than just making a name for himself. He’s been giving back to the local rap and hip hop community since the beginning of his career. Hypnautic is hoping to use his rise to fame to help all around him, creating jobs, opportunity, and hope for aspiring minds, regardless of their dreams. At the very least, he’s a prime example of making your dreams happen and not giving up on yourself regardless of the triumphs that lay ahead.
