All My Potential is influenced, motivated and inspired by so many different things. First and foremost being a musician is much different now then it was when I was in high school and first started playing guitar. The world gets bigger as you get older and motivations and influences definitely change. I guess that in one sense the album was motivated by the idea that what I have to say lyrically may matter to someone. And that in some way, I could possibly support someone else through their problems with my music. Just thinking of how many artists and writers have helped me, I would love to provide that kind of support to someone else. I also feel that the more I write and the more we record, the more I realize that writing is how I process life. If I’m not writing and recording I can easily head to a dark place. And I figure that if writing is a part of what makes me myself, and it’s how I process and rationalize life, than it seems natural to want to share that with others. I would be lying if I said that's all there is to it; there's certainly a part of me that’s motivated by proving wrong everyone who ever gave up on us or didn’t think we would amount to much. Regardless of all that though, I feel absolutely compelled to share my feelings and thoughts with others through my art. And it just so happens that the first stage of this art begins with All My Potential.
