The Fells combine the raw energy of a vocal-based pub band with the instrumental virtuosity displayed by the great Celtic groups that emerged in the 60’s folk revival. While they are firmly rooted in best of what has gone before, The Fells bring a thoroughly modern sensibility to their interpretations of traditional Celtic music. Each member of the band has his or her own unique perspective, exploring influences that range from old-time and bluegrass to rock and pop. In The Fells’ songwriting, the themes are both current and universal: good times, bad times, family, love, loss, and striving.

The fells are: Jennifer Halenar - vocals, fiddle, and button accordion; Travis Johnson - vocals, guitar, and bouzouki; and Tom Saffell - 8-string banjo and whistle.
