简介
Homer Marrs is a musician, actor and writer living in the City of Big Shoulders. A veteran of the Chicago improv scene, including stints with GayCo Productions and Second City, Marrs started focusing his energies into music in 2011. His debut EP, "Prom King" (produced by JC Brooks & The Uptown Sound’s Ben Taylor), came out in May 2012 and was supported by a live performance of “The Facebook Song” on "Jimmy Kimmel Live" via webcam for National UnFriend Day. Live performances in Seattle, Los Angeles, Michigan and all over Chicago followed. The EP garnered favorable reviews from "Illinois Entertainer," "Chicago Indie Music Live," "360 Magazine," and others. Marrs has had concert and video sponsorship from hirsute hookup sites Bear411.com and Bearwww.com, which he finds both awesome and hilarious. After narrowing down a wide pool of talented friends and collaborators, he joined forces in spring 2013 with bassist Chopsticks, drummer Matthew Frantz and keyboardist Cody Reynolds to form the Excellent Adventure. Producer Rick Field will helm the recording of the group’s debut LP for an early 2014 release. His magazine writing credits include Las Vegas Magazine (staff writer), Time Out Chicago (gay and lesbian editor), American Theatre, Film.com, QVegas, Outlands and Envy Man magazine. His ran the lifestyle/humor column “Marrs Attacks” from 2005-2013 in several LGBT publications including Out & About Newspaper, Reno Out and Chicago’s Nightspots. Acting credits include the Travel Channel, Second City Touring Company, the Annoyance Theater and Boston College as well as indie films and commercial, industrial and voice over work. Homer is represented in Chicago by Lily’s Talent Agency.
