简介
"Oh, listen Israel..." - The Pear Republic returns with a follow-up to their self-titled debut. Whereas the first album poked some light fun via Snopes.com via its imagery and title - a play on the California flag - this new album makes some light fun with the names of albums by little-known bands like The Beatles and Weezer. Musically, the album is an energetic mix of alternative rock that takes influence from Nirvana, Green Day, Royal Blood, '68, Local H, Project 86, Soundgarden (RIP Chris Cornell), Spoken, Relient K ... and maybe a few others. Lyrically and spiritually, the album takes its inspiration from the likes of other Messianic artists, including Steve McConnell, Ted Pearce, Lamb, Joel Chernoff, Paul Wilbur, Zemer Levav, and others. Allusions of the Torah, the Psalms, and the Messiah abound, and the lyrical and musical genres and styles are integrated with a unique culturally blended approach and inspiring lyrics. Two songs are sung entirely in Hebrew - Netzach Yisrael and L'khoo N'ran'anah (Epic), while the rest are primarily in English. "Those who trust in Adonai are as Mount Zion, which cannot be moved and lasts forever".
