U.S. National Scottish Fiddle Champion Jamie Laval is one of the premier Celtic violinists on the international music scene today. He has performed for Her Majesty the Queen and collaborated on Dave Matthews’ album “Some Devil.” Almost three years in the making, Murmurs and Drones brought together the talents of mandolinist Ashley Broder, guitarists Robin Bullock, Zac Leger, and Owen Morrison, acoustic bassist Stuart Kenney, Scottish smallpiper Rod Weeks, ’cellist Kevin Krentz, and tabla player Ben Mawhorter. State-of-the-art engineering was provided by Jay Manneschmidt. Recordings were made in such widespread locations as Knoxville, Amherst, Los Angeles, Greensboro, and Seattle.
