Quick the Lights! is The Rail's debut album. Pulling from musical identities rooted in funk, soul, rock, jazz, and hip-hop, the album fuses these styles into a tight, dance-inducing groove that swings from mellow reggae to progressive rock. Always starting with the groove, the band builds precisely articulated compositions which they can explore live in extended improvisational jams. There are clear nods to Herbie Hancock, John Scofield, Galactic, and Snarky Puppy - artists the band claims as influences. The music is textured, surprising, funked up and fun.
