From 1981 to 1983 a small DIY record label Smoke 7 Records released some of the most essential and impactful punk records of the era, assisting in the launching of the careers and legacy’s of Bad Religion, Redd Kross, JFA, Circle One and many many others. This “Best of” compilation includes key tracks from all the releases including mega hits and otherwise unavailable gems. The hits are easy to recognize, like Bad Religion’s namesake classic, the Redd Kross cover of Charlie Manson’s "Cease to Exist", JFA’s cove of War’s ,"Low Rider", M.I.A. anthem “Tell Me Why" or RF7’s cover of CCR’s "Fortunate Son." But what you also get here are underground classic’s like Youth Gone Mad’s “Okie Dog” and “Ode to Darby,” Ten Minute Warning (featuring Duff Mckagan of Gun’s & Roses) doing “Buried Alive," Circle One’s Epic "Destroy Exxon."
