A wonderful album that's a devil to classify. The eight songs are about finding the path your life belongs on, and finding shelter when you stray from your path. Native American references abound throughout. Mr. Farr's band is a quintet, with a punch-the-clock rythm section, a fluid lead guitar, and a violin that sounds like an unwired Jean-Luc Ponty. Mr, Farr's vocal is the fulcrum, with the band rising and falling in volume and tempo as the emotional landscape changes. A great late-at-night record, and (I imagine) a great record to bring on a cross-country drive.
