The twelve tracks, which were recorded with the famous Lazarito Valdes and his orchestra "Bamboleo", in Havana, Cuba, compose a rare collection of songs drawn from a repertoire of Cuban and Latin American songs from the late forties. With innovative arrangements, the Cuban musician Lazarito Valdes has blended earlier melodies with contemporary Latin sounds. At times somewhat jazzy, he leaves untouched the sentimental evidence of the tunes as known in their heydays when people lived their lives under the inspiration of these boleros. Gina G. sings these boleros with her unusual powerful deep voice. Together with Lazarito Valdes, they combine their musical talents, to bring this music to life again.
