Recorded in Rome in trio: Giampaolo Scatozza on drums, Luciano Zanoni on the keyboards and Giovanni Di Cosimo on Flugelhorn then featured illustrious guests like Trevor Watts at alto sax, Osibiza's Kari Bannerman on guitar, Ravi Naimpally on Tabla, Pierpaolo Principato on piano, Leonardo Valvassori at the bass and singers Nina Pedersen, Barbara Eramo and Raffaela Siniscalchi. Giampaolo Scatozza is perhaps more known as a session drummer than as a composer. His musical background ranges from electronic music, jazz, pop, and ethnic music. In his career, Giampaolo has collaborated with London pop music icons such as Paul Young, Tom Jones, Curiosity Killed the Cat, Groove Armada, Emma Bunton, but in the jazz world he shared the stage with Trevor Watts, Evan Parker, Gilad Atzmon, Michael Statements, Kellylee Evans, Four80East and many more. His last work as a composer has a more jazzy feel than his previous works which embrace the avant-garde electronic music scene. It could only be called Travels this album. Giampaolo has lived in the last twenty years between London, Toronto with shores in NYC and Paris. Travels include various influences from London's underground drum & bass music and Trip hop, Indian music, West Africa's Highlife and European Jazz. Travels means sharing your music with musicians of many cultures, including sounds coming from different places, Travels does not want to belong to any predefined genre.
