If they had entitled their first and last album "Exit Planet E", according to their british soulmates, it would be much more convenient. But "Leaving You With This" is a last glance without stagy gestures. Though we just met, they slam the door with the dryed-out electro-funk of "Leaving You With This", as if it were forever. It's us to regret. It has been a typical Austrian matter anyway. When the band found a suitable way of walking the thin line between rock, pop and contemporary electronics they received nothing less than pure enthusiasm. A band not willing to dump their idea of music in the smooth vienna-coffeetable-sound-swamp. Working on their debut album on full throttle, they had to get by with a constant lack of money, lots of disputes in musical direction and more to the point, the vanishing of their visions. Some planetarians wanted to continue, some didn't. But it started so promising: 12"-releases on Uptight Records, remixes from Pulsinger & Tunakan, live-performances with BECK, TRICKY, LTJ BUKEM and others made the stuff for the legend. Finally the release of the single "MOVE" on Universal Hamburg, including MTV-rotation for the video. Not bad for four years of career, some might say. But all good things come to an end way too fast. To be left with "LEAVING YOU WITH THIS" is no harsh farewell. 14 tracks, including all the remixes, leave an stunning impression of laid-back creativity, excellent soundhandling and what it?s like to melt the poles of pop, rock, jazz and electronics together. That?s what intelligent freestyle wanted to sound like. Interplanetary and earthbound in just one go. But no planet travels forever: exit Planet E
