This collection of sixteen songs was originally released on CD in 2002. It features recordings from between 1981 and 1999 which were mostly made at Junior's Motel in Otho Iowa and engineered by Kirk Kaufman. There are three "Iowa Songs" included, When You're Down In Iowa ( written on a bean bar near Badger, Iowa ).....The Old Iowa Waltz ( co-written with pal Dave Hearn )....and Rollin' Down That Lincoln Highway. Two songs were recorded and co-produced by Denny Osburn in his basement studio in Kansas City ( One Step Ahead Of The Blues & Dark Star Rising ) on which he worked his multi-instrumentalism magic. Bluer Than The Moon Over You was co-written and sung by Scott Dorman. Nicki Thoma sang Lost In A Dream, and Jan Vroman sang MIxed Up On You....as well as joining me on Thank You Grandma For Saying A Prayer. Keith Brown mixed The Old Iowa Waltz and Tombstone Cowboy ( another Dave Hearn co-write ) at his Crystal Sound Studio in Des Moines.
