简介
Heart Attack High was formed around 2008-2009 by Duncan Allen and Jason Clifford, banding together after being separated across the country from one another, in hopes of just making some music together. After getting a solid group of songs together, the search began for a vocalist. Portland, Oregon didn't have much to offer at the time, so they called up Mark Miller from North Carolina who had shown interest in moving out West. Soon after, Mark moved out and everything was formed. They had gotten word of a producer by the name of Stephan Hawkes (American Me, Attila, Exotic Animal Petting Zoo, etc) and decided to record, "3000 Miles From The South". The name of the album symbolized their desire to create something on the other side of what they had known. Local scene buzz started and HAH began playing shows furiously. After many good turn outs, they asked their friend Chris Huaraque of Falling Closer, who had done a guest spot on "A Dollar's Worth", to come aboard and try a two vocalist approach. Through many trials and tribulations, Chris Huaraque took over vocal duties around 2010. Mark started a family and was ready to become a Dad with his new girlfriend, whom he is still together with and happy. After Mark leaving and Chris taking over, they began a search for a bassist and second guitarist. After searching on Craigslist endlessly and giving up on what Portland had to offer, they stumbled upon two auditions named A.J. and Mike, whom would end up joining HAH after a successful first night of practicing. Soon after, they began hopping onto national act's shows such as 36 Crazyfists, Norma Jean, Arsonists Get All The Girls, Emery, Within The Ruins, American Me, and Mychildren Mybride, to name a few. Talk began of recording a third E.P., but never really cemented until Mike's departure. Soon after helping lay down guitars for the newest then untitled release, A.J. decided to move on from HAH to pursue a still ever expanding career with one of the most talented bands in this scene, Icarus The Owl. Left with an entire E.P. that had drums/guitars entirely tracked thanks to Steve Holt of 36 Crazyfists, HAH went with Neil Engle of Goat Shed Studios to take over recording vocals and bass, the latter played by Tony C. of The Goddamn Animals/Falling Closer. The final product was "Transitions", which would the end release for HAH. After forming member Jason Clifford had his son Maddex and moved to Florida, it was clear that HAH's time had come to an end. A lot had been achieved and it was time to cut the cord while their dignity was still intact. The goal of this project was to do what they had all wanted: Make solid music together, play shows with all of their favorite bands, and try to connect with their personal heroes, all of which happened. And a lot more. Never in a million years did they ever think half of the things would happen that did, especially for a completely independent non touring band, self financed until the very end without any outside help.
