简介
Next Tribe is a band on a mission. A mission of crossing musical genres and breaking the boundaries of rock, ethnic, metal, jam-band and pop. Next Tribe formed in the summer of 2000 and was a common fixture in the legendary venue the Wetlands Preserve. Led by guitarist Rob Mastrianni with Drummer Phil Scotti and Bassist James Criscitiello the band pushed the envelope night in and night out with one of the most original sounds in the NYC scene. From flamenco to punk to improvisational psychedelia, clubs and crowds where drawn in by this diverse group. Next Tribe has won critical acclaim with Relix Magazine, Jambase.com, The Village Voice and many other respected musical publications. Next Tribe has also held residencies at such prestigious clubs as The Knitting Factory, Tobacco Road and The Wetlands Preserve. They have shared the stage with Robert Randolf and the Family Band, New Deal, Lake Trout, Michael Frantis' Spearhead, The Disco Biscuits, Bumblefoot, Dub Trio to name a select few. In 2008 the band was also featured performing in the Oasis - Dig Out Your Soul In The Streets. The unique sound of this band is made up of high energy Rock with the ethnic flavor of flamenco guitar, Afro/Latin and Brazilian rhythms, as well as Native American and eastern Indian influences. These ethnic influences came naturally to each member growing up in Brooklyn, the melting pot of New York City's many cultures and musical sounds. Mesmerizing and intense, passionate and energetic, bitter and sweet. From well crafted songs with hooks that will stick in your head for days, to freewheeling improvisations that make each performance a unique experience. "There is no escaping this zone once you stumble upon it. It instantaneously overcomes you. It forces you to move. The rock 'n' roll moments will have you raising your fists while the constantly pulsating rhythms will have you shaking body parts you didn't even know you had. And it feels so good, it's just gotta be evil." - The Village Voice(Rothman) "Mesmerizing, hypnotizing...one of the most original bands I've heard. There is no simple way to describe this band. But once you're hooked, you're hooked." - Westchestermusic.com "Hearing Next Tribe is a religious experience every time..." - UHERO.com
