Ginger Kid combines strong female lead vocals, clean guitar and bass, and solid drumming. Based in Brooklyn, NY, the group was formed in 2010 by Nick Herron (guitar) and red haired Erin Young (vocals). They were originally called Herron and Collins but changed the name to Ginger Kid after they added Ryan Scarborough as their drummer. After recording their debut album, By My Side, they added bass player Jason Betancourt. The album is an eclectic collection of songs whose sounds range from 60's surf rock to folk to alternative indie rock.
