简介
Paula Gilbert always dreamed of writing her own songs. When she was a teenager, she wrote a few songs, but it wasn't until she spent time practicing daily meditation in the 1990's that her dream came true and she wrote many songs, stories, plays and performed them live with her friends and students. Since she began her writing career, her focus has been to bring peace and inspirational messages through her music - her plays ended up being funny and entertaining. She is continually writing positive music, stories and plays to bring inspiration and positive change into people's lives. HISTORY: She studied music privately from the age of 8 and is a Bay Area musician of over 40 years. She started her music career at a young age exploring classical training through private voice & piano teachers. Encouraged by her parents, she actively participated in Gilbert and Sullivan, Choir, Broadway Musicals, and a Rock Band called "Hot Toad". She also studied Vocal Performance, Opera and Vocal Harmony in College at Chico State University, San Jose State University & Bryn Mawr Conservatory of Pennsylvania. An award winning singer as a teen, the pinnacle of her young career was her title role in "Iolanthe" at the age of 20. Her professional career began shortly after that when she moved to Pennsylvania where she was a weekly vocalist in a paid church choir made up of local professional musicians. She also sang in concerts, weddings, funerals and private parties. In her 30s, she continued her professional singing career with a highlight of working for Max's Opera Cafe for 3 years. After moving to Cloverdale, she then gained her much valued teacher training through working in Sonoma County Public and Private Schools. She began her Singer Songwriter career in 1994 with a group called the PTM's - short for Part-time Musicians. Later the group was renamed "The Papa Divas". During her 40s, she produced 5 Christmas CDs with her students, a Chanting CD to celebrate diversity created in the aftermath of 9/11, a Latin CD, an Ambient music CD and a Children's CD - Music Train. These CDs and music can all be downloaded through iTunes or listened to on streaming on-line radio. Her distributer is CDBaby. Today in her 50s, she is still writing and producing her own work and is currently in production of 5 new CDs - "Fairy Parade" "Earth Dance", "Castleford", "Do What You Love" and "Love Is The Answer". She is also composing a new Choral work called "The Passion For Peace". Her latest musical "Cinderella", was performed to packed houses June of 2011 in Cloverdale, CA.
