简介

Grace Park (formerly Grace Rowland) is singer/songwriter for Austin band The Blue Hit. She formed Grace Park & the Deer in February 2012 as an avenue for her original songs. The core members are Michael McLeod (Good Field, Richard Linklater film composer) on lead guitar, Jesse Dalton (Green Mountain Grass) on upright bass, and Alan Eckert (Dimitri’s Ascent) on drums and backup vocals. Other performers include Stephanie Bledsoe on backup vocals and Paul Adams on drums and vocals. Grace, Michael, and Jesse met in 2004 at the Texas State School of Music where they were trained. After years of traveling with different groups they met North Texas alumni Alan Eckert through a large network of other remarkable Texas musicians. Early in Spring 2012, Grace brought to Michael a collection of songs and a concept. On his home system known as Nine Grey Clouds Studios, McLeod recorded Grace Park & the Deer’s debut album. It features over 20 musicians from across the US, including Dennis Ludiker (Milk Drive), Trevor Smith (Wood & Wire), the infamous Sick on fiddle, Jay Williams on slide guitar, and over a dozen singers. The lyrics are often eerie stories set to inventive melodies on a bed of transcendental Texas music, rich layers, and expressive leads. Their debut album, An Argument For Observation, took over a year to make and the beauty is in the details.
