TRACK BY TRACK DESCRIPTION OF FUNKLORE Electrik People This is the first song off the EP "Funklore" and quite possibly the funkiest - we thought why not come out with a bang? This tune is an ode to the loyal and energetic fans who get down at all our shows. Our live show is all about people dancing and enjoying themselves, it's very little about us, it's all about them and it's definitely what we get the most joy out of! Player's Ball "Player's Ball" was the first single that we released off "Funklore". It's inspired by the 70's Blaxsploitation era film 'The Mack'. The song tells a story of a young man who is first attracted to pimping out of a need to support his family. However, he is corrupted by the lifestyle and in the end loses the family he first sought to support... Ain't You Something? Ain't You Something is a cautionary tale of the dangers of vanity. The protagonist of the tale is initially floored by the beauty of a lady he sees in a bar. He continues to chase her affection but he is faced with her cruel intentions at every turn. Ultimately the ugliness she holds within herself shines through too much and our protagonist loses interest in having anything meaningful with her. Creepin' When we started jamming on Creepin' it had a feeling of mischievousness. A little chanted hook took shape about creeping around behind your lovers' back. Once we fleshed out the song it ended up being a bit of a cheeky take on the infidelities that can come along with relationships. Run & Hide Run and Hide is about all the bullshit violence on our streets these days. The film clip is quite confronting but we really wanted to put the message across. Essentially, it's about two guys walking home after a big night out on the town and one gets a hit by a coward punch leaving the other for dead. It's about being plagued by the guilt of taking someone's life, running and hiding.
