"I come from a little village in southern Quebec, where I grew to love the outdoor and the blues. With parents who always talked about traveling, I eventually wanted to make my own experiences. So at the age of 18, took the car and drove straight to California. After a month, it was time to come home. And then the introspection began and it gave birth to my first EP "Presence". I tend to sing about deep emotions, and how life can sometimes be more of a gray cloud than a black and white printed script." With his distinctive vocals and instrumental artistry inspired by southern souls, Kolas released his debut EP "Presence" in May 2014. Since then, he's been going from radios to youtube worldwide channel as BalconyTv to promote his music. In December 2014, MusicInform.com selects Kolas as a To be Discovered Artist. Canadian jazz singer Terez Montcalm takes him under her wing after listening to the "Presence" EP and invites him to follow her and the band for their East Canada Tour as her opening act. First stop is May 7th 2015 at L'Astral, Montreal. Kolas is destined on this musical highway, including Canadian and U.S. festivals and dream to perform with legends in Louisiana.Inspired at the young age of 8, Kolas began his first guitar lessons which led to the creation of his own music, influenced by John Butler Trio, Jeff Buckley, Eddie Vedder, Charlie Winston, Ben Howard, John Lee Hooker, Elvis Prestley and Johnny Cash. May 1st, 2014, the graduates of the Commercialisation program of l’École du Show-Business, under the name “Les Productions du 609” is presenting KOLAS TRIO. This showcase offers Kolas and his two acolytes the chance to perform at the prestigious Club Soda in Montreal and to launch themselves into the public eye, including the actors from the music and entertainment industry, the world of culture, record labels, distribution companies and other businesses. During the summer of 2013, after playing together for some time, Kolas Trio decided to launch their musical career. In November 2013, Kolas trio entered Emergenza contest, O Patro Vys, and won the first round of the competition and continues in March 2014 at Club Soda in Montreal. January 2014, the launch of Kolas first official video Hobo Toes, was produced by Laurence Labat. 2015, Kolas performed at the Festival des Montgolfières de Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec.
