J Da' L.I.G.H.T. means "Jarard the Life In God Holds Treasure." A simple but encouraging sentence; basically speaking to himself and others well in the faith of Jesus Christ about being a light to the world, but also to keep Christ as the center focus or the main treasure in their lives. Ministering to people isn't a new thing for Jay, he's been used by God to sing since the age of four years old in various churches from New Covenant Christian Center - Saginaw, Michigan to Christian House of Prayer - Killeen,Texas. As an R&B/Hip-hop artist, his main goal is to talk about having a relationship with God. However, he understands that we as Christians live real lives as well; and in all honesty the world can't help them when they have music themes promoting pre-marital sex, adultery, etc. He also has songs giving praise, worship, and adoration to Jesus Christ; understanding that marriage is a Christ ordained thing then why not talk about it? His style of music is simply a mix of genres. Growing up he enjoyed listening to Gospel, Contemporary Gospel, Hip hop, and R & B. In his early to mid-twentys, he became exposed to different music such as Salsa, Merengue, Bachata, and Reggaeton.
