简介
"Heal Our Land," the second album of patriotic-themed music by Senator Orrin Hatch and Janice Kapp Perry, was the 7th album they produced. Orrin (a poet for many years) and Janice (who had released more than 55 of her own albums since 1979) met by chance in 1996 at the funeral of a friend and talked of the possibility of collaborating. Within several months they had started, working mostly by Fed-Ex and fax. Their first CD, "My God Is Love," had its title song performed on the Rev. Robert Schuller’s "Hour of Power" TV show. They followed this CD with "Freedom’s Light," their first patriotic album. "Jesus’ Love Is Like a River," their next release, had two songs selected from it ("Like a River" and "Many Different Roads") by Gladys Knight, who recorded them on her new album, "Many Different Roads." In late 1998 they wrote and released "The Locket," based on the novel by best-selling author Richard Paul Evans, which was followed by "Come to the Manger," an album of six traditional and ten new Christmas songs. The following spring they released a compilation of their songs recorded by Nashville singer Chris Willis, and Santita Jackson (daughter of the Reverend Jesse Jackson), entitled "Put Your Arms Around the World." In 1998 they also released a CD single, "Many Different Roads," which was written as a tribute to Princess Diana and Mother Teresa. One more patriotic CD was released by The Osmonds--Second Generation entitled "I Love America," with new covers of many of the songs from "Freedom's Light" and "Heal Our Land," along with several new songs.
