This collection is the culmination of 7 year s worth of work. It spans the time that the Grievous Angels broke up, my time with the Christophers, and a long period of primarily acoustic music. Much of this time was occupied by writing and playing solo acoustic shows in New York, with the emphasis on getting away from an electric sound, and focusing on the intimacy of playing acoustic. Long story short, let the songs do the talking. While there are some arrangements on this tracks, they are sparse and primarily with acoustic instruments. I was joined on these at times by Kurt Reil (The Gripweeds) on drums, some backing vocals and co-producing, and my trusted brother Vincent (Gigantic) on bass and some vocals. There's even a few cameos by noted creative hermit, Dave Clark (bass on Rainy Day Season), and a few others. Shortly after this period, I began working on 'newsongtoo', my return to electric and the band setting. For the most part, this has been my direction ever since, pulling double duties in the Third of Never (Moodring) and with my soon to be released solo effort 'Cathedral' album. I have a fondness for this work, as it was a prolific period for me. I hope you will hear the honesty and rawness of some of the tracks along with the joy of pure songwriting and let th music speak for itself.... CJ
