Dust Jacket was originally distributed only on dustjacketproject.com, a website where people could send in something they had created in exchange for the record. The songs were written from a place of questioning and brooding over growth, both intentional and otherwise, and our incessant obsession with wanting to feel important and in control despite the reality of our role in the world. The composition built on the naked, living room craft of West's "Something Makes Us Move" and plays more with string and vocal arrangements to emphasize the tediously crafted lyrics. Given the vulnerable nature of the writing, it seemed most fit to trade art for art, and the record prompted submission to the website for two years. The project has since been put to rest but the record is now available for purchase online.
