In creating the traditional African sound she has assembled a great selection of artists and musicians. Her rhythm section includes young jazz lion Louis M. Jones III-drums, Damon Warmack and Jeff Pedraz on bass, which projects a dynamic force in sustaining a solid groove for each arrangement. In completing the rhythm force on A New Message From the Tribe are Drummers of the African Diaspora which include Mahindi Masai, Akunda Hollis and Gregory Freeman performing on congas: quinto and tumba and many other exotic African instruments including chekere, bells and clave. Joining the ensemble are Detroit’s premier amd internationally known trumpeter Dwight Adams, trombonist Terry Kimura and yours truly on tenor saxophone, clarinet and bass clarinet which projects a powerful sound that stimulates emotion and majestic presence. The icing on the cake includes grammy nominated internationally known vocalist Carla Cook who caputures the spiritual presenceof Sarah Vaughn on The Divine One, Ping Spells who sings melodies of love on Love Dream and who also arranged the vocals on this track, Naima Shamborguer penned the lyrics and vocals on The Only Blessing That I Have Is You, a tribute to Billie Holiday and Omolara Ogbanna Rene Ceasar a young talented vocalist and composer who passionately sings Phil Ranelin’s How Do We End All Of This Madness. The assembling of this great ensemble has accumulated a powerful sound that projects spiritual celebrations eminating from three different cultures, West Africa, the Caribbean and the Middle East. As a producer I am very excited of Pamela’s accomplishments which inspires positve human interests.
