简介

This debut album called "Hold the Moon", is a collection of original, soulful lyrics, delivered by smooth male and female vocals, backed by strong harmonies. It's reminiscent of C.S.N.Y., Harry Neilsen, Sarah MacLachlan and Stevie Wonder; slightly jazzy, great rhythms - a fresh taste in the music world. The heartfelt lyrics and strong instrumentals pick up the emotions of the listener, like they've 'been there'. The writer is Cindy Koppen, and the arranger - Gino Cosentino. Cindy writes, "Before I was born, music making was hard at work in my ancesters. My great aunt Stella sang with the Metropolitan Opera, and my great grandfather was an accomplished organist and guitar player. Later my mother became a professional concert soloist, and my father learned to play many instruments, including the bag-pipes. When my two brothers and I were born in Toronto area, we arrived to the sounds of the big bands, and all the musicals of the 50's and 60's. Our young lives were surrounded by music - we lived it - at home, church and school. I sung in the jr. choir, and took piano lessons. At 14yrs old, I picked up the guitar, emulating my heros of that day - Bruce Cockburn, Joni Mitchell, C.S.N.Y., Harry Neilsen, Cat Stevens, The Eagles, The Beatles and James Taylor. In 1994 my husband Jurgen and I moved to coastal B.C with our 3 kids. After the 'nest' emptied, a piano surfaced in our livingroom. I picked up the pen again and started putting together a body of original work, some of which ended up on this CD. I wanted to touch people where they felt understood. My music paints the color of the emotions, sensations and impressions we all experience while life throws its' curveballs. You will recognize these events as you listen to the album. Writing has been a great means of expression for me over the last few years." The other members of the band are Gino Cosentino, Taylor Lussier and our youngest daughter Skye Morrison. "There is a huge musical canvas out there with lots to write and sing about. We are only at the beginning!"
