VISIONS features various forms of adult contemporary music ranging from a unique cover of the Manfred Mann hit DO WAH DIDDYDiddy to Mariachi//Flamenco style love songs (I SURRENDER and YO ME RINDO) to A Caribbean flavored love song called TROPICAL NIGHTS. I SURRENDER and YO ME RINDO feature layered guitars and violins with a blend of castanets, wood blocks, and hand claps creating a unique sound that I call " MARIFLENCO" . "Tropical Nights" is a Caribbean style love song about a couple remembering a vacation, honeymoon, anniversary, etc. on the beaches of the tropics in the tropical moonlight. I wrote this song after watching a cruise ship commercial about 3:00 AM in the morning and it is written around the beginning riff of the song and the guitar solo. For this song, we used electric and acoustic guitars as well as Marimbas for that "tropical" flavor in addition to various percussive instrumentation (e.g. timbales, congas, wood blocks, etc.) to capture that "tropical flavor". Finally, DO WAH DIDDY is an innovative remake of the 60"s mega hit by Manfred Mann that features heavier guitars and layered background vocals with an innovative beginning to the song. I truly hope that you enjoy this album because these songs are my VISIONS. This music "just makes you feel good."
