My Song: For an audience of One is a compilation of songs about one man's struggle to be righteous. The intro begins with the thesis, "I search in tears in the night/for the sight/of myself dressed in white/with the Lord and His Christ". The struggle to overcome sin and be found righteous is the serious theme of this intense project. The music swings from intimate prayerful meditations with gospel vocal features to hiphop boldness and authoritive rhyme deliveries over bass-heavy tracks. There is something on here for the lyricist as well as the casual listener.
