Simon's passion for music has spanned over six decades. His early musical influences were jazz giants such as Charlie Mingus, Gerry Mulligan, Chet Baker, Cannonball Adderley and Miles Davis; he also was intrigued with Latin stars such as Machito, Tito Puente, Celia Cruz, and Hector Lavoy. These musical icons layed the foundation for Simon's love of music and influenced his writings. For the past 40 years, Simon has created songs detailing his life experiences. His compositions tell tales that are filled with sensuality, joy, heartache, loneliness, self-doubt, and confronting one's own mortality.
