Madison Line Records Marci Coleman’s debut album bursts onto the Christian music canvas like a Jackson Pollock painting. Dripping with soulful worship, pop melodies and relatable lyrics, Marci’s E.P. is uplifting and unpredictable, yet it leaps to the soul with its authenticity like alkyd enamels leap to eye. The five song E.P gives nods to worship artists like Lauren Daigle, Ellie Holcomb, and Brooke Fraser, yet maintains a unique artistic voice that is unconventionally Marci. The sound that is woven into the DNA of a girl from the city of soul itself, Memphis, TN. Upon graduating from Visible Music College in 2014, Marci partnered with Madison Line Records the following year who, along with creative mastermind and rising Memphis producer, Kirk Kienzle, helped sculpt and chisel away her sound, so that the full force of Marci’s personality would be all that is left to communicate with those in need of hearing. The eponymous collection showcases a transformation from previous independent releases with pleasant, laid back tempos to bass led and guitar propelling grooves with “can’t get it out my head” melodies. Lyrically, each song shares an undeniable theme throughout. Comments Marci, “I write and sing because God has given me these gifts to share with people from every walk of life, encouraging all of us that despite our brokenness, we all have hope through the love of Christ who is in constant, passionate pursuit of us.” Boldly epitomizing this hopeful message, is the lead single, “Wanted”, which portrays a self-reflecting conversation questioning life choices and worth, responded by Christ’s merciful reassurance of acceptance: “Now she spends her moments wondering/’Has my life been good for nothing?’/But Father she can hear You calling through the night:/ ‘I have always loved you, and I’m never gonna let you go/I know you want to, but don’t you give up hope/I am the one who can set you free/Even when you don’t believe it/You are wanted by Me’.” To help raise her portion of expenses toward production and manufacturing costs, Marci has recently launched a fundraising campaign through Indie GoGo which ends August 9th. Concurrently beginning on August 9th, the radio edit of “Wanted” will be available as a free download for a limited time through NoiseTrade.com.
